Day 1: Arrival Leh
Welcome to the Takthok Monastery Festival Tour! On reaching Leh airport, you will be greeted by the Indian Rove representative on day 01(22nd of July) of the festival tour. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day is free to get yourself acclimatized to the climate of Ladakh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Leh Sight Seeing
On the 2nd day of the tour, you would visit Thiksey, Shey palace and Phyang monastery. Thicksey Gompa is considered as one of the most impressive and largest amongst Leh monasteries. It is just 19 kms from the city. On the other hand, Phyang monastery belongs to the Red Hat sect of Buddhism. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Full day at Takthok Festival
After early breakfast, you would drive to Takthok monastery to take part in the celebrations of Takthok festival. It is celebrated in the month of July/August every year at the meditation cave Gompa of Tak -Tok in Ladakh. A Large numbers of tourists attend the festivities. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Leh - Sumur (Nubra Valley)
On the morning of 25th July,you would drive to Nubra through Khardungla pass, the highest motorable road in the world. Khardungla pass is situated at a distance of 37 km from Leh. On reaching Nubra, check-in at the pre-booked cottage. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at the cottage.
Day 5: Nubra Valley Sight Seeing
After breakfast, you would embark on a sightseeing tour of Nubra valley exploring superb attractions like white sand dunes, Hunder and Diskit monasteries. Lama Sherab Zangpoof Stod founded the Diskit monastery housing now 100 monks. In the evening, visit Samstaling monastery. Overnight stay at the Cottage.
Day 6: Sumur to Leh
On the sixth day of Takthok Monastery Festival Tour, we would drive back throughKhardungla pass the world’s highest motorable road. Explore the Leh market where you can buy curios, antiques, souvenirs, etc in the evening. Also visit Leh Jokhang or Leh Mosque by foot. Overnight stay at the hotel at Leh.
Day 7: Leh to Uletokpo
After early breakfast, you will drive to Uleytokpo. Along the way, you will visit Alchi monastery. After lunch, explore the scenic village of Mangyu. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo camps.
Day 8: Visit Lamayuru
On 29th July, we would go on a sightseeing tour to Lamayuru monastery. Later, don’t forget to vists Chulichan nunney and Rizong monastery. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo camps.
Day 9: Uletokpo to Leh
Today you would drive back to Leh, on the way, visiting Likir monastery. Also visit other attractions like Stok Palace and museum, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Leh Sight Seeing
On the 10th day of your Takthok Monastery Festival Tour, you would go on a sightseeing tour of Spituk monastery. On your way back, visit the Tibetan Refuge centre. Overnight stay at hotel at Leh.
Day 11: Departure
On 1st August, Transfer to the Leh airport and board a flight for the onward destination.
