Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
On reaching Delhi, you would be received by the Indian Rove representative at the airport/railway station and transferred to the hotel. Check-in and relax in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Delhi - Leh
Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Leh. Our representative would meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. The entire day is free for you to get acclimatized to the altitude of Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Leh – Sightseeing tour
After breakfast, we would explore the fabulous Buddhist heritage of Leh. Post-lunch, we will visit Shanti Stupa displaying on its golden panels the important episodes from the life of Buddha. This Peace Pagoda was built by the Japanese Buddhists and inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Later, you would drive to Sankar monastery where you can see fine paintings and gold statuettes of Buddha. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Leh -Hemis - Thiksey - Shey
After breakfast we would go on a sightseeing tour of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries. Perched atop a mountain, you would get nice view of the Indus from the Thiksey monastery. Hemis Gompa is famous as the biggest and richest monasteries in Leh. Afterwards, we would visit the Shey Palace one time summer palace of the royal family of Ladakh. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 5: Leh -Alchi
After having your breakfast, would embark on a sightseeing tour of Alchi monastery. En route we stop at Uletokpo camp to have lunch and relax for a while before moving on to Alchi monastery, one of the well-preserved Buddhist centers in Leh. The monastery has fine paintings on its walls. Savor the rural lifestyle of the Alchi village. Stay overnight at the camp.
Day 6: Alchi - Lamayuru – Alchi
After breakfast, we set out to visitthe Lamayuru monastery. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Enjoy your packed lunch at Lamayuru village and savor the scenic serenity of the village. Return to the camp in the evening to stay overnight.
Day 7: Ridzong and Likir Monasteries
Early morning, we would go on a sightseeing tour of Ridzong and Likir monasteries. Being located atop a steep hill, you would walk for a kilometer on foot to reach Ridzong monastery, a convent for Buddhist nuns. Later, return to the camp for breakfast and leave for Leh. On the way, visit Likir monastery built by Gelupa sect in 15th century. Continue driving along the Indus River. Lunch at the hotel and afternoon is free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Leh - Saboo - Leh
After breakfast, we would experience the traditional life Ladakhi people at Saboo village. It is fun checking delicious local cuisine at Ladakhi home. Afterwards, drive back to Leh. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Leh - Stok - Tibetan Handicraft
After breakfast, we would visit majestic Stok Palace nd museum. It used to be the residence of the royal family. The museum is full of excellent antiques from the royal times. We would also visit a Ladakh Handicraft Centre where you can buy local handicrafts and other stuff. There is a Tibetan settlement at Choglamsar we would visit. Return back to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10: Leh
It is the last day of Ladakh Buddhist tour. Entire day is free leisure. You can go shopping, sightseeing or anything else you might want to do.
Day 11: Leh - Delhi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi. Indian Rove representative will meet you at Delhi airport and help you check into your hotel. Check into your hotel and relax. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Delhi
After breakfast, you will proceed for an exciting sightseeing tour of Delhi. Starting with historic Old Delhi, you will visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; Red Fort, an amazing sandstone fort built by Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan. Explore the busy heritage market of Chandni Chowk. Then in New Delhi, you will visit India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutb Minar, Lotus temple, etc. There are numerous shopping centers where you can buy stuff of you need. Return to your hotel to stay overnight.
Day 13: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the international airport for your flight to your onward destination. Though the Ladakh Buddhist tour have come to end, the fabulous moments frozen in your digital pictures will stay on.
