Day 1: Arrival Leh
Welcome to Ladakh Festival Tour! Indian Rove representative would receive you on day 019 (31st August) and transfer you to a hotel. Rest of the day is for getting acclimatized to the local climate. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Full day at Ladakh Festival
On 1st of September, you would enjoy the colorful Ladakh annual festival. It marks the inauguration ceremony of Losar festival. It is one of the popular festivals of Leh and is celebrated widely. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Leh Sight Seeing
On 2nd of September, you would go on a sightseeing tour of Phyang monastery. Later, visit the Stakna and Matho monasteries.Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Leh - Sumur (Nubra Valley)
You would drive to Nubra through Khardungla pass, the highest motorable road in the world. The place is situated at a distance of 37 km from Leh. On reaching Nubra, check-in at the pre-booked cottage. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at the cottage.
Day 5: Nubra Valley Sight Seeing
On day 05, you would visit Hunder village to explore white sand dunes. Later visit places like Diskit and Hunder monasteries. In the evening, you would go to Samstaling Monastery founded by Lama Tsultrim Nima and is 132 years old. Overnight stay at the cottage.
Day 6: Sumur to Leh
On the sixth day of your Ladakh annual festival, you will drive back to Leh via Khardungla pass. In the evening, you will walk through the Leh bazaar for buying local stuff like curios, souvenirs, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Leh Sight Seeing
After having breakfast, you will visit Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries. Thiksey is one of the beautiful monasteries in Leh whereas Hemis Gompa is regarded as the richest and biggest in Leh. Stay overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 8: Leh to Uletokpo
On the eighth day, you would drive to Uleytokpo. On the way, visit the Alchi monastery. Afterwards, walk over to the fabulous village of Mangyu.Overnight stay at the Uleytokpo camps.
Day 9: Visit to Lamayuru
You would visit Lamayuru monastery on the 9th day of your Ladakh annual festival. It is one of the oldest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Leh. Later, you would go over to Chulichan nunnery and Rizong monastery. Overnight stay at the Uleytokpo camps.
Day 10: Uletokpo to Leh
On the 10th day, you would drive back to Leh. On the way, visit Likir and Spituk monasteries. Being perched atop a hill, Spituk Gompa provides panoramic view of the Indus valley. Though the Likir Gompa was constructed in 11th century, it was rededicated to a different monastic order during 15th century. In the evening, visit Stok palace and museum. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11: Departure
On 10th of September, you would be transferred to the airport to board the flight for your onward journey.
