Day 1: Arrival Leh
Welcome to the Hemis Monastery Festival Tour! On reaching Leh airport, you will be greeted by the Indian Rove representative on day 01(23rd June) of the festival tour. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day is free to get yourself acclimatized to the climate of Ladakh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Leh Sight seeing
On the 2nd day of Hemis Festival Tour, you would visit Thiksey, Shey palace and Hemis monastery. Thicksey Gompa is considered as one of the most impressive and largest amongst Leh monasteries. It is just 19 kms from the city. On the other hand, Hemis Gompa is known as the biggest and richest amongst monasteries in Ladakh. It is at distance of 40 km from Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Hemis Festival
You will take part in the celebrations of Hemis Monastery on 25th of June. Every year it is celebrated on the 10th day of Tibetan lunar month commemorating the birth anniversary of Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche) the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Leh - Sumur (Nubra Valley)
After having your breakfast, you would visit Nubra valley driving via Khardungla pass the world’s highest motorable road. Khardungla is about 37 km from Leh. On reaching Nubra, check-in at a cottage. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at the cottage.
Day 5: Nubra Sight Seeing
After breakfast, you would embark on a sightseeing tour of Nubra valley exploring superb attractions like white sand dunes, Hunder and Diskit monasteries. Lama Sherab Zangpoof Stod founded the Diskit monastery housing now 100 monks. In the evening, visit Samstaling monastery. Overnight stay at the Cottage.
Day 6: Sumur to Leh
On the 6th day of Hemis Monastery festival tour, you will drive back to Leh via Khardungla pass. In the evening, you can explore Leh bazaar for buying things like curios, souvenirs, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Leh Sight Seeing
On the 7th day of the festival, you would embark on a full day sightseeing tour of Leh city. Explore places like Shey, spituk monastery and Stok Palace and museum, etc. Saty overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Leh to Uletokpo
It is the 8th day of Hemis Monastery Festival Tour. You will drive to Uleytokpo, along the way, you will visit Alchi monastery. After lunch, explore the scenic village of Mangyu. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo camps.
Day 9: Excursion to Lamayuru
On 1st of July, you would go on a visit to Lamayuru Monastery in the morning. Later, visit other beautiful attractions like Chulichan nunnery and Rizong monastery. Overnight stay at the Uleytokpo camps.
Day 10: Uletokpo to Leh
On the 10th day of the Hemis monastery Festival, you would drive to Leh en route visiting Likir monastery. Another fabulous destination you would visit isStok Palace and museum in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Departure
On 03rd July, transfer to Leh airport to board flight for the onward destination.
