Day 01: Arrive Srinagar airport
On reaching Srinagar airport, you would be greeted by our representative and transferred to a deluxe houseboat. Enjoy a shikara ride on the Dal Lake and also see the floating vegetable gardens. Dinner and overnight stay in Deluxe Houseboat
Day 02: Local sight seeing
After breakfast, you would go on a trip to Mughal gardens. Start your sightseeing with Shalimar Bagh built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Empress Nur Jahan. Later, you would visit Nishant Bagh built in 1632 A.D. by the brother-in-law of Jahangir. You will have your lunch at houseboat and afternoon is free for lunch. Stay overnight at the houseboat.
Day 03: Srinagar – Gulmarg
After breakfast, you would embark on a full day sightseeing tour of Gulmarg which is 56 kms from Srinagar city. Gulmarg is an exquisite meadow having the highest golf courses in the world with 18 holes. The scenic landscape from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is just breathtaking. If it is a sunny day, you will have nice view of the Nanga Parbat. Enjoy an exciting Gondola ride. Lunch in hotel. Stay overnight at the houseboat.
Day 4: Srinagar- Sonmarg- Kargil.
In the morning, we will proceed to Kargil. Along the way, you will visit Sonmarg and Baltal well-known for their scenic beauty. After passing Zoji-La pass, we enter Drass valley surrounded by gigantic rugged mountains. After security check, we move on to Kargil. Overnight in a local hotel/Inn.
Day 5: Kargil- Leh.
In the morning, you would see various structures from the Silk Route days. It was one of the major stop for the Central Asian trade route. On the way, you would stop at Mulbekh Monastery situated atop a hill over the village of same name. It is famous for the huge image of Buddha carvedout from the gigantic rock. Later, you would visit Alchi and Likir monasteries. These monasteries have very old paintings well-known for depicting Buddhist motifs. Arrive in Leh and check into local hotel/inn.
Day 6: Leh-Local sightseeing
After breakfast, we would set out for a fabulous sightseeing tour. Visit Leh Bazaar, Leh Palace and Shankar Gompa. Located 2 kms from Leh, Shankar monastery has got fantastic collection of miniatures made of pure gold and numerous beautiful paintings. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Hemis/Shey Palace/Thiksey
After breakfast, we will visit Hemis Gompa which is the largest in Ladakh. It is amazing monastery with gold statues and stupas decorated with precious stones. Visit the Shey Palace famous for a fine statue of Buddha overlooking Indus Valley. Visit Thiksey which is one of the beautiful monasteries in Leh.
Day 8: Departure
After early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in Leh for your flight to Delhi. Indian Rove representative will meet you in Delhi and help you to transfer to the international airport for your flight to your onward destination.
